Hotel sales manager will take on 100km challenge for charity
The sales manager of a popular hotel has pledged to take part in the 100km London to Brighton Challenge in aid of charity.
Holiday Inn Corby sales manager Janette Weedall has signed up to the challenge to raise funds for Bob Champion’s Cancer Trust.
Janette said: “I have committed to walk, jog, laugh and cry my way to the finishing line of the 100km London to Brighton challenge with my friend Lucy Thornton.
“This will be a challenge and a half so I would really appreciate any support to spur me on.
“Bob Champion was a guest speaker at the Business Expo last year at Holiday Inn, Corby.
“I learned about the hurdles that he had to overcome whilst battling cancer, being told that he wouldn’t survive after treatment, miraculously pulling through with sheer determination, and then going onto win the Grand National in 1981 on Aldiniti.
“Bob set up a cancer charity to help others through their battle against this disgusting disease.
“So please help me to raise as much money as I can for this incredibly worthy cause.”
Janette will take part in the challenge on Saturday, May 27.
