Fancy dress fun for 14th fundraiser
In a fight for supremacy, Harry Potter’s magic wand would surely triumph over Fred Flintstone’s stone-age club, but when it comes to a battle of fancy dress, YOU can help decide who’s the victor!
You see the prize for the best outfits worn at last year’s Cycle4Cynthia - the annual charity bike ride which raises money for Northampton’s Cynthia Spencer Hospice - is to be determined by an online vote and the winner will be announced at the launch of this year’s ride which is being held at the home of Northampton Saints, Franklin’s Gardens, at 6.30pm on Tuesday 4th April.
Also vying for the title are a cyclist who pedalled in a bright blue ‘Mrs Bump’ costume and a gang of girls who brought a ray of sunshine to the autumn event by riding dressed as daffodils, while most of the 1154 who took part in the ride at Holdenby House donned their lycra!
Saints coach Jim Mallinder and some of the players will be on hand at the launch of the fourteenth year of the ride to present that trophy, as well as those for the largest corporate team to take part, most money raised by an individual and the Chairman’s Award, which is given in recognition of a special contribution to the event.
In addition, the total amount raised in sponsorship will be revealed, of which every penny will go to supporting the invaluable work of Cynthia Spencer Hospice, while the details of this year’s ride will also be announced.
