The Egyptian-British Chamber of Commerce and Egyptian British Business Council have the pleasure to invite you to join us at a Breakfast Briefing at 8.45am for a 9.00am start on Monday, 23 January at the RAF Club at 128 Piccadilly, London, W1J 7PY.
HE Eng Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources will provide a briefing on latest developments in Egypt's oil & gas sector.
Egypt is the largest non-OPEC oil producer in Africa and the second largest producer of gas. It is also the continent's leading consumer, obliging it to import substantial volumes to meet domestic demand, boosted by government subsidies. Subsidy reform and recent major gas discoveries have not yet brought production and consumption into balance but the sector has attracted significant foreign direct investment, not least from UK investors such as BP and Shell. Egypt also has underdeveloped phosphate and other mineral resources, not least in an area of Upper Egypt designated the Golden Triangle - as well as gold in the eastern desert and Sinai.
As the Minister responsible for the oil, gas and mining sector, HE Eng Tarek El Molla will be in a position to provide privileged insights into current policies and their implications. There will be no cost beyond your time to attend and if you would like to do so, please register online or RSVP to Karin Van Wesep at email@example.com by Thursday, 19 January.
HE Eng Tarek El Molla will start speaking at 9.00am, the meeting will end at 10.30am. Coffee, tea and croissants will be served from 8.45am.
