Quarterly Economic Review – Quarter 3 2012

Results from the latest Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce Quarterly Economic Survey (QES) show that businesses in Northamptonshire are continuing to grow their international business and are recruiting again, but are not so confident when it comes to domestic markets.

“Aside from the dip in domestic sales and orders, on the whole, these are largely positive results. Exports are up again, businesses are recruiting and seem optimistic when it comes to profitability and turnover over the next 12 months.

“The challenges faced by Northamptonshire businesses are national issues and ones that the Government should look to tackle to help support business and, in turn, the resurgence of the economy on our doorstep. The recently announced Business Bank is a step in the right direction and should help businesses in Britain to access cash and invest in further growth.”

Paul Griffiths, Chief Executive
Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce
